I still find it hard to accept,
Where I’m standing right now.
All of things that have happened,
The future that will come to pass.
I can feel it in the air,
A presence of all the things to come.
Sometimes it’s all a little too much,
Sometimes I think it’s too much for me to handle.
Then I remember,
Everything I believe,
What I stand for,
Who I trust.
There is always pain,
Always will be, always has been.
It’s this pain, that intensifies the moments of joy,
That beautifies the situation of love.
Pain makes the days sweeter,
And the nights longer,
Pain is the tool by which we measure all things.
If it has no pain, it is pure ecstasy,
If it is all pain, it is fear and despair.
But those polar opposites are rarely ever felt,
In much of life’s entirety,
We experience a medley, a combination.
One side of the equation holds the good,
the other holds the bad,
We may find love, but lose another one in the process,
Or we may experience new things, at the cost of familiarity with the old.
Life is a sword without a handle, in order to cut something,
You must apply pressure, therefore cutting yourself.
There is no action that doesn’t produce a reaction,
And there is no escaping this fatalistic trend.
We must acknowledge and accept the measure of our actions,
And when the end burden seems to great to handle,
Remember the reasons we made the actions we took.
It is too easy to look back on life in regret,
It takes true ambition and courage,
To accept you did the best you could at the time,
And hope to rectify whatever comes your way in the future.
