Presence

I can feel it pressing down
a fog infiltrating the town
Into the hearts it creeps
taking control it seeps
Words of no meaning
Lies keep deceiving
Into silence I go
Fantasies you’ll never know.
It is so dear
the feeling of fear
Knowing what it has to teach
but helpless is my speech.
My thoughts will touch every one of you
In a spiders web it holds us all, the glue
Silky tendrils of spiritual matter
In my head screams violent laughter.
Ropes that bind us
Words that blind us
Love that rescues
Hope that ensues
Desperation confuses
Perseverance never loses.
