Artist's Description

I drove 540km today to get home for this. Well thats what whereis.com tells me I drove anyway. I woke up in Hobart this morning and drove home 450km after a few chores. Then headed off again to take some pics.
I rang Murph to see if he wanted to go west for a shoot. He said he’d ring back in a sec, I waited half an hour for a call that didn’t come and then left without him.
I have a bit of a fad on Nettley Bay at the moment so there I went again. I had some wonderful clouds happening in a muggy sky and some serious rain on the horizon inching towards me, actually it was galloping towards me and as it got closer the cell became apparent.
It totally obscured the sun dropping from the sky but just as the sun descended below the horizon, it started throwing the light at the bottom of the cell and lit up the thick blue rain in a magic pink colour.
At the same time it started to flash lightning about every 20-30 secs. I couldn’t believe my luck. Don’t recall ever seeing this before.
I have no idea why, but not one of the lightning flashes showed on the shots, even though I had the shutter open for quite a few of them. Can anyone educate me on why that might be please?
