The Buster Shipwreck – Woolgoolga Beach, NSW.
The Buster is one of 10 known shipwrecks in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. A timber barquentine (A barquentine has three or more masts with square sails only on the fore mast), @30 metres long and built in Cananda. While moored at the Woolgoolga Jetty in February 1893 awaiting a load of timber to be taken to New Zealand, she was hit by a fierce storm and ran aground on Woolgoolga Beach – her resting place for over 100 years. Occasionally during high seas she is again uncovered from her sandy grave for all to see.
This photo was taken in May 2009, the first time she had been uncovered in 15 years.

One of my absolute favourite types of photo’s to view i love ruined and unloved things….marvalous capture!
Many thanx for the comment. I had only been living in the area for a year and a half when I took this and felt rather special to be able to see it and photograph it. I have some photos of other old stuff in my portfolio (Other Stuff) also that you might like.
