Aquilegia, also known as Granny’s bonnet and Columbine) is a genus of about 60-70 species of perennial plants that are found in meadows, woodlands, and at higher altitudes throughout the Northern Hemisphere. This one is a garden variety with large blooms. It was found in the private garden of a very kind gardener who gave permission for my photography. Do go along to see his garden if you find yourself in the vicinity of Wherwell in Hampshire (UK)
The wild ones which grow in my garden are much smaller and usually pink or purple.

Camera used: Nikon Coolpix 3200
