21 year old walks across the Simpson Desert to raise awareness and funds for local youth at risk project
Young Australian adventurer Timothy Luszczak is setting off on an incredible 20 day traverse across the Simpson desert. Travelling only by foot, pulling a cart weighing 150kg, Tim will embark on this solo journey, covering a distance of 400km, and in the process helping to raise funds for a youth at risk program within his local and surrounding communities.
In June 2008, Tim will start his epic journey on the western fringe of the Simpson desert, called Old Andado. Traversing across a barren swept landscape, he will finish to the eastern fringes of the Desert, at Birdsville. His journey will take him through some of the most rugged and isolated land this country has to offer. This includes 1100 sand dunes, ranging from 10 to 30 metres that run perpendicular to his route.
Bless Him….. Hope that he does it and achieves his goal.
