Artist's Description

A masterful library at one of the many manor houses I visited in Wales the summer of 2018. The earliest surviving part of the building dates back to the late 15th century and was made of stone, grand enough for even King Charles 1 to visit. Between 1664 and 1672, however, William Morgan decided to rebuild the house on a larger scale from red brick, at that time a rare building material in Wales. For over five hundred years it was home to one of the greatest of Welsh families, the Morgans (the same family as the famous Captain Morgan who became Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica).

This library is a massive room with plenty of room to wander between the rows and rows of shelves holding beautiful editions of historical books, of which this is only one.

Camera used was my Canon SX720HS.
