Artist's Description

Chand Baori This is one of the oldest baor (stepwell) in Rajasthan India. Built by King Chanda of the Nikumbha Dynasty who ruled Abaneri (or ancient) Abhanagari) during the8th and 9th century A.D. The well is approximately 64 feet deep with steps on three sides. It was built to collect rainwater and the women of the village would carry jars down to collect water for their households.
