Artist's Description

Unless living in a country where it is scarce, we often forget the value of water.

No photography was used to make this picture. All elements of this image were created solely on computer, from blank canvas, in Photoshop. A first experiment for me !

I choose this font because of its natural look and lightness. The green wording is part of the picture and represents nature, the T being the source of the water and evoking also a faucet. The lightness of the font evokes the joy, pleasure and comfort provided by water. The sober look of the wording compare to the dashing look of water is meant to shock and capture the imagination in a way to convey the idea that water is a natural good that we must cherish and shall not waste or spoil.

For the running water, I used clouds rendering, filters and distortion as shown in the tutorial mentioned in my journal entitled My favorite Photoshop’s tutorials

The splashing was made with a completely different technique, similar to the one used here. I used brushes and applied layer’s special effects, adapting the technique used to make synthetic water drops in Photoshop, and used a lot of layers to adjust the effects, texture, transparency and colors the way I wished to.

I used a similar technique with very small brushes for some fine adjustments on the running water.
