Artist's Description

This shot is one of my most unusual for Red Bubble. It was taken with a deeply beloved garbage camera and my first tripod. It was a ‘point and shoot’ that took rather good shots for a 3MP “toy” and it had some interesting features I didn’t understand at the time. This shot is an example. There was nothing I could do about shutter speed back then, even if I’d known what it was. Yet this camera slowed down instead of telling me there wasn’t enough light. It also flashed with the technique I’m just learning about now: front curtain and back curtain timing, making the cars invisible. It also flashed into the eyes of the oncoming traffic but heck! I was a budding photographer and I needed to learn stuff! This photo was taken the same day as “lady walking” so this little pocket rocket was all the camera I needed for two years.

Then it got steamed in the shower. Don’t ask.
