Artist's Description

This is one of the few shots known to exist of the Nutree. Thought to be a hoax perpetrated by squirrels and nut peckers, it was finally confirmed as a true lifeform. The first reported sighting was by a man only known by his first name, Moon-sunflower, in the year 1967. He came wandering from a forest near San Francisco with a mystic fog surrounding him and the strong odor of Patchouly. The broken Kodak Instant print camera he carried was unable to produce more than a single image and Kodak was forbidden from repairing the technology. The courts ruled it as stolen, probably from the tape-strewn and flooded garage of a man named Tom Scholtz who formerly worked for Polaroid. But the image was indisputable evidence and confirmed by two other witnesses who also only used one name: Cheech and Chong.

Seen here just outside Weedy (no relation to any hallucinogenic smoking substance) Field, California, this Nutree was captured in the few moments of its existence before a horde of squirrels overran the site, causing the complete inhalation of the strange specimen. Unfortunately, the unknown photographer seemed to be under some sort of spell that, coincidentally, was also paired by the pungent aroma of Patchouly.

Being that this sighting will probably be the last, this record is cherished by scientists and a sect of smelling peoples who call themselves “Heads” everywhere.
