Yes, they were both examining the same subject, some shelled peanuts about 6 inches in front of my camera. But no, Sherlock here was the Alpha bird and horned out every other bird to get what he wanted when he wanted it. He had just finished his own batch of nuts when he saw that I was putting out some for this other bird and rushed in to push him away from the prize.
If it wasn’t that Alpha here was my first highly interactive pigeon, I’d have run his bully butt off for a bit. But I missed what I wanted to get anyway: a shot of him eating from my hand. Next time Mr Meanie wants to interact, he’ll get to do so as a performing pigeon or he ain’t gonna get paid more than Union scale in nuts. LOL!
