Artist's Description

Paul is a good friend and bandmate in the Humperheads. We’re usually on opposite sides of the stage so seeing and hearing each other is hit-and-miss from time to time. This was miss time. The stage was TINY but yet it seemed to swallow up every word either spoken or sung at my end of the stage. Getting the hang of hearing was tough for all of us but here you can see someone with that “huh” look of ‘what the hell…?’ Sometimes, it happens during songs and I usually can’t stop laughing at the results. This time it happened before we started so luck was dripping all over us.

However, I can’t see in this sort of light. There we have a double threat: blind and deaf musicians are not all that effective. Seeing ANYONE with lights on you is hard but seeing someone bathed in colours I can’t see thru just has to look strange. My dark glasses keep it from being painful (most of the time) but this “huh” look is the one most people probably see on MY face, not Paul’s.
