Artist's Description

This is the ‘mostly dry’ mouth of a sea cave in Big Sur. I have to say ‘mostly dry’ because the entire area gets flooded at high tide and the tide was coming in hard and fast when I took this shot. But I did go down to the furthest rock in the cave and tried to get some spectacular shots of the water exploding overhead. I was sure I could shelter the camera enough but the fear factor was so intense I shook at each thunderous BOOM and almost fell in the water anyway.

I edited out the man in the red hat that parked himself in front of this scene. He wasn’t gonna move no matter what so I composed the shot so I could easily bury him in all this rock. LOL!
