Artist's Description

Two days after one of the biggest fires in Sacramento’s recent history, the clean-up began on the train trestle that went up in a massive cloud of smoke a year ago. I wasn’t allowed as close to the action as I wanted to be but that was my own fault. The cameraman from a local TV station said he would have said I was with his crew if I’d asked sooner. Drat! Oh well, now I know what to do and how to do it for future major events. Just look like they do, say nothing, and take shots like a professional. I think I can manage that. :-)

The fire burned so hotly that it literally caused the iron tracks to drip like rain when they super-heated from the creosote that the wood was soaked in. That caused a bit of a stir because that wasn’t supposed to have happened since creosote-soaked wood isn’t supposed to catch fire that easily nor burn that hotly.
