Artist's Description

This is not my garden hose. I don’t have a garden so I don’t have a hose. I rarely need one in an apartment with no plants. So don’t blame me if the hose is dirty. I did my best to “clean” it with PhotoShop Elements 3.0 but it was REALLY dirty. My guide for photography shoots that involve colour owns this hose. She doesn’t wash her hose. I don’t know why. But the damselfly didn’t seem to mind that it was dirty as much as I did when editing this photograph. Since it’s my first one for the new Damselfly Group (that’s apart from the dragonfly group now), I didn’t want a dirty shot to be my first submission. Unfortunately, some of the dirt remains on my guide’s dirty hose and I apologize for that bit of nastiness.

Anyway, the damselfly was quite patient while I got my camera ready for some macro and waited for me patiently. Or, at least I thought it was waiting. It was dead. But it looks cool even if it wasn’t free to fly away to get away from me and my camera.

I don’t know the species and the dead damselfly wasn’t talkin’.

PS What country is this damselfly from? Clue: if you’re Canadian, you know this is a REALLY bad joke…
