Personal Plea to Help an Artist Friend In Need (Reprinted from Jayne Logan)

The following is a very important message from the Red Bubble Community’s member Jayne Logan. It’s regarding Mychaelalchemy and his dire need for help. Please read the message and contact Jayne to help a depressed and injured artist.

Hello Everyone,

In chatting with Mychael[alchemy], a fellow Red Bubble artist, I learned of his current plight. He is facing life on the street in the early new year. He lost his job of 18 yrs, 1 year ago, due to illness, depression and fatigue and all that comes with it. He suffers from crippling bulging disks in his back, walks with a cane when he can, etc., medicines cost money. I approached my dear friend Laura Hartley by email and we decided to both put out a journal note to everyone. This man, Mychael, is 59 years old and living in the United States of America. Sadly, folks living on the street are commonplace (and it is the same here in Canada) but I just hate to see this gentleman face the streets in such a horrible condition.

Please … find it in your hearts to purchase a card or print or whatever you can to help him. I discussed this with him this morning and he was so happy that perhaps this would at least help him pay his bills and buy food. The rent is another worry altogether. I think you get the gist.

I won’t pester or guilt anyone, of course, as I respect your right to do as you can or wish. I only ask that you stop and think for a minute – what if it were ME. Please, as a wonderful community of artists and redBubblers, let’s help an artist in genuine need.

Thank you for your time. Please don’t respond to this journal with comments as I know you all have kind comments and big hearts – I don’t need to know who pitched in. If you can help, it will be at your discretion. OK? Thank you so very much.
