In the first week of May, we took a lovely walk from Harrachov (a town situated in the western part of the Krkonose / Giant Mountains National Park, the Czech Republic), along the Mumlava river and its beautiful waterfalls.
It is a nice day hike from Harrachov to ‘Krakonosova snidane’ (Giant’s breakfast) and return, about 13km long. I would love to go further on, but a bit higher in the mountains (just about 1km further) there were 30cm of fresh snow and we only had summer clothes with us.
At one cascade, we were surprised to find a field of cairns (stone men). The children in our group thought it would be a great idea to build some more!
