October 2, 2011; TODAY I AM ATTENDING AN OCTOBERFEST DINNER CELEBRATION AT VFW POST 9148; I am printing a small version of this art with a Poem I have written Called Welcome HOME; (Not included here in this Description in my gallery here …) For those whom I have had the personal journey through my lens You know why I do what I do to give back to those who have served this GREAT Country of ours. I recently had the opportunity to share a little bit of my life “behind the lens” with a fellow in arms. Amazed to know that our paths although our cameras quite different digital vs old school film … We have been out there in the same places preserving and restoring the history and passion of the community through service in the silence of our love for this great country U.S.A.
I took a VERY extreme rish in sharing who I might be .. (identy behind my lens) with this person in sharing my art and doing doing so was touched as I read aloud the dedication to this U.S. Soldier from Vietnam that I had written on 8/31/2011 and saw through his eyes the feelings of why I do what I do through my lens .. then did I realize that it would be o.k. that I had allowed myself the “FREEDOM” if you will to (Introduce myself from behind the lens to someone who had the same passions for our Military Men and Women including him as he had previously served this great country and would in fact not reveal my true self to those who need not know “The girl behind the lens” … Interesting even more was that as we looked through the photography of events of the many patriotic events within Southern California that our paths had crossed he had had my 6, my 12 and my 360 angles if you will but not shooting my through is lens but the exact object and capture that I had been shooting and if you didn’t know it you would think he stole my art LOL! So, I think it’s rather interesting that if You can Welcome ART, and Allow others the FREEDOM and Appreciation to share your passion as to why you are serving this great country our your own desires to create your art be it what type of art or passion that makes you who you are you can be a better person. I can’t explain who this Soldier is other than it helps to know that I will forever be a better person for allowing myself to have allowed this soldier to read and know the reason I create my art outside where they normally don’t see me or it isn’t “truly known” … What I do when where I see this group of people I usually say …I shoot, I burn, I deliver, I leave .. Meaning I don’t really know who’s photo I may be taking this day, I respect who you are and what you have done for this great country no matter what the job may have been. I don’t know what your job is now. It is NOT my PURPOSE to Market or USE YOU in any way to make money I am here only to preserve the history of our local or the local events; I.E. my project name; I usually have a contact pre-selected and those files are give there and dropped and delivered. The cool thing is ONE of the persons this recent Memorial Day took many, many hours of his own time looking through hundreds of my unedits shots and printed them for the “locals” and handed them out; This is some of the first time these particular Vets have had this type of nice “Candid” and in some cases “Family” photo if you will for years; They don’t need to know where they came from and never will that’s what the POP is about; if you can’t do that and make someone happy for just a moment in time .. I don’t think living life would be worth more than a taking all of this time … And seeing some of their faces and hearing about it later is PRICELESS .. So, needless to say … I have spent a little more time getting to know some of those nameless faces I’ve been shooting for years because the stories I have heard just bring me to tears. I love being around them all and it is helping me put toghter the most important things in life for my younger siblngs the finish … The memories of my Dad a U.S. Marine for my little brother who is serving now!! & That is what’s important ..
Welcoming those home and continuing to serve … you must always answer when called Daughter of a U.S. Marine

9/2/2011; My Son attended the services of a fallen friend; my son is currently and has been for a year like this young man preparing to be a leader after what he saw on 9-11; My son is a Fire Explorer out of Station 20 in Norwalk, CA USA; his Friend was a Sherriff Explorer out of Station 20, Norwalk he had age 19 he had just signed his final papers to start officially on w/the LA County Sherriff. Like my Son, this young man had been going on calls for years. My son had been on calls w/him and his unit. This young man was out with a friend this week when a gang member and crew recognized him and a friend and gunned them both down in cold blood. TWO young men, two lives lost, One future hero, one person that I can tell you like my son was definately touched by 9-11! As he was laid to rest his family severaly of them … ***FULLY DECORATED U.S. MARINES, & Also Army carried his casket along with his brothers Sherriffs and Fire of Stations 20 Norwalk, CA USA R.I.P. I am not disclosing his name here in my artwork as I do not feel it appropriate as this art is in a “challenge event for 9-11”. Also, the person(s) who are at large for his murder and the murder of his friend are still saught out. So, for now .. This is a silent note to my RB friends who “read between the lines” Don’t vote for me because of this I hope that we are all able to welcome home our men and women from the current call of duty that this 9-11 event caused … This I pray as I update these words of my welcome home art so that we can all be free in our homes wherever that may be (-:
Loved this capture with our Flag and warm greeting to Ms. Wats’ Garden.

Sept 11, 2011 will mark the 10th Year Anniversary since the most horrific even the world can remember in this United States of America on our soil … Acts of terrism plight countries worldwide and continue to do so. It is my prayer as I repost this Patriotic Welcome that the U.S.A. has always been the “Welcoming Country for Freedom and compassion”.
As this date comes forward we must come together in prayer, peace and untiy worldwide …
My message is "Let us “RING the 10th Anniversary as a WELCOME HOME TO PRAYER, PEACE, UNITY AND WORLDWIDE FREEDOM”.
So many, many were lost. Nothing can bring those back, the hurt the pain the anquish. But we can be thankful for what we have around us. Unite in Prayer, Peace and Unity, be thankful for the FREEDOM we have and those who have sacrificed so much. These things I pray … 2011 Lei H
