Giving Back

Hopefully you won’t mind my long story of Thanks for your reply (-:

Thank you for your wonderful comments here. Much appreciated. I dedicate a lot of my work to our local Vets. I usually take photos @ the events and pass my chips to one or a couple of my buddies rip to a DVD; sometimes I stop and burn them on the site I have a portable burner that will make a DVD Slideshow if I have time I do that.

It was really awesome to find that our local chief/captain VFW Post 9148 took the photos I had done on Memorial Day 2011 as I do capture what I call a lot of profile shots from a distance. Those seem to capture those faces at a thoughtful perspective;really awesome; when we got back to the hall some family shots @ the tables with the vets. One man had never had a family photo. Those are WORTH Every tiring moment YOU have @ The end of the day!! To know you can give someone that!! What a blessing!! (I was delighted how perfect it looked through my lens as I tried not to tear up)

Some people don’t quite get what I do or why because sometimes my health isn’t great; can’t explain here and don’t want to. But, these men and women have been through it … They deserve the shot I can see on a good day if I have it in me! I am glad to give it back … I don’t want the ones living to be forgotten
… and my project .. “How many flags will it take?” … is providing our local historical group with what they need to make sure those that are gone are NEVER Forgotten;
My “Ribbons of Hope Project” has been going on for seven years and The angel stories are endless; Hopefully one day God will give me the strength to write a book …
In this photo;ON the DESK next to ED on his RIGHT are GOLD BOXES …. IN the BOXES ARE … Not only Angels from my Ribbons of Hope Project but he is the FIRST RECEIPIENT of the EAGLE that has been done by my Artist Raul; I had NO Idea it was ED I was meeting that day; And as God would have it … Raul had provided me with an Eagle (Two … One of which I would give to Mr. Oxman on his 96th Birthday June 26th 2011); I just happened to put it carefully in my box … because afterall I was going to see Mr. “O” and the boys (-: Hope you’ll enjoy more about me and why I capture these things in my lens;

99.9% of what I capture is given to whomever I shoot photography for; @ The Moment; That’s right Where I am @ The Moment (Health, Finance, can control ones’ life if you let it. Having the strength to carry on and knowing it will be o.k. is what moves you to the next steps in life; be positive and eventually all things negative your mind if doing what is positive zero out the negative and you won’t regret it …Lei Hedger TERMS OF LIFE and Living after cancer, loss, etc…) .
I usually only publish one or two photos from the event. The rest is for them to use as they wish; for this event; Provided to Oxman’s Surplus for the Museum as Mr. Jerome Oxman built the museum for the future generations to preserve and teach all those who will come. I am publishing two photos from this event in hopes that local schools in the area will come and vist and learn more about our military men and women and NOT Ever Forget!!

Thanks REDBUBBLE and Fellow Artist Like You for letting me share these stories (-: Lei Hedger July 2011
