Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 leaving Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney, Australia. Sorry but everyone has a little aeroplane nerd inside them somewhere ;)
This was a quick spur of the moment shot to test out my new toy. I’d just returned home with a nice shiny new Nikon 70-300VR lens and heard an aircraft in the distance so ran out to the back yard to test the lens. At 300mm on an overcast day about 4.30 in the afternoon (1/160 sec) hand held, I’m pretty impressed with the quality and sharpness of the 70-300 Nikon and how well the VR works.
The HDR part came about after seeing one of a very cool lightly HDR’d shot of an RAAF F-18 at this years Avalon airshow on here (for the life of me I can’t find the pic or the artist now, so if you know who you are give me a shout!). The use of HDR in that really brought the gritty details and and gave it a really industrial, grungy look that inspired me to have a go at it. More to come…
Taken over Marrickville, NSW. For those who live in the Inner West of Sydney this would be a familiar sight.
Nikon D90, Nikkor 70-300 VR f/4.5-5.6 @ 300mm, f/5.6, 1/160, hand held, HDR’d in Photomatix, single RAW exposed 5x at 1/2 EV intervals, Light Room 2.
