Lee Potter is the man behind ObscureVision. I come from Essex, England but have made Portland, Oregon my home since 2003. I have always been artistic, from an early age I drew and always tried to keep within the lines of my colouring book.

In England I studied Graphic Design with photography as a side subject. Back then I used to develop my own black and white images, those fun days before digital. I kick myself that I did not continue with photography, I ended up working many jobs from factory work to retail. Every one was a experience I learned from.

Today some 20 years on from those ‘good old days’ living here in Portland with my wife, two cats and dog – I find myself picking up the camera and doing what I should have done back then.

The bumper sticker may say “Keep Portland Weird” I find Portland interestingly weird and I like it. Since arriving here, Portland has sucked me in, the town does this – but you have to be open and ready for this. The Rose City, The City of Bridges, Beervana, Portland has many names and as many facades.

As an artist and a homebrewer, Portland has everything I need…for the moment.

Why ObsureVision? Well, we live in a fast-paced society where we are blinded by the glitz and enormity of life in general. Most people forget to notice the details.

When I was in art college, my instructor always said, “Observe and take in everything.” In my work I want to show not only what is expected – but the unexpected and obscure.

So, please take a look and I hope you enjoy.

If you wish to convo/contact me please feel free.

And remember “Don’t worry have a home brew”.
