Sorrento, Canada

I have become an active artist since retirement. Water colour pencil is my major medium, and my subject matter is the beauty of nature...

Thanks for visiting! I wish you good luck in your artistic endeavours and hope you enjoy viewing my images.

I am a self -taught artist. As a child I was an artist, as we all are, but teaching, travel, and family filled my adult years. In retirement, and especially now that I am 60+, I have returned to art, and I’m having so much FUN!

Sense of place is central to my painting and I try to capture the essence of the many countries I have been fortunate to travel to in the last few years. Islands are a favorite of mine, and since retirement I have spent most of my birthdays on islands, ranging from Madeira to Bali, from Tasmania to Caye Caulker, and many other wonderful islands all over the world. Closer to my home in Canada, I find subjects in my backyard and in my memories of growing up on a prairie farm.

After much thought, I have decided to include a few photographs in my portfolio because my travels are so important to my art and because I often use photos as a reference.
