Familiar Coma

It’s kind of Comforting to sit
in this
Familiar Feeling
of
Helpless hope
and its
Steadfast, yet Unsure
Longsuffering.

There’s no way to know.
There’s no way to control.
There’s no way to change it.
There’s no way to know.

There is only Prayer.

Though I wish it would
come to
Something more,
It is kind of Comforting.

And I do,
I sit in it.
Like sitting in a pool of water.
Natural, calm, and warm.
The longer I sit, the further it spreads.
out, and out go the ripples.
I could fight it with pleasant thoughts, or
bi•ol•o•gy
Or I could sit longer and help it grow with a few tears of my own.

Sit in this Familiar coma
That quietly holds me
still.
That quietly holds me still

And unlike a well formed persuasive argument,
There is no call to action that explains how I should help.

There is only Prayer.
