Artist's Description

“Eye of Horus” Fractal Artwork by Leah McNeir, 2008.
With energy swirling throughout, this beautiful fractal flame forms the “Eye of Horus”, an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, power, regeneration, healing, wisdom & insight.
This symbol, also known as “Wedjat”, “Udjat”, “Eye of the Moon”, “The Eye of Ra”, “The All Seeing Eye”, etc. was also used as a notation of measurement. Split into 6 parts, each respectively representing the fractions: 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64. Each part also corresponded to a sense: smell, sight, thought, hearing, taste, touch.
It was believed that this symbol would bring the barer safety, health, wisdom, prosperity, & protection.
