'[In My World]'

In my world,
loving her comes first.
Breathing is secondary.

She is my religion.
The foundation,
upon which I built my concept of heaven.

Otherwise it doesn’t exist for me,
I’ve not even the time of day
for these bickering fanatics
who persecute themselves and others,
with their vaunted playground tactics.
Misinterpretation and all the wrong conviction,
has seen them corrupt the idea of faith;
that it has become the image of its’ own enemy.

Poor souls.

In my world,
I am terrified of fading into obscurity.
Of a life without greater purpose or significance.
I am haunted by my duality.
I am ruined, by my inability
to cope with a singular loss.
But I will find a way,
I will fight until the end
to find peace within my soul,
to be a good man.
I’ll strive beyond all else,
to serve the greater good.

It’s a pitched and violent conflict,
and cynical in it’s tone.
Blood soaked, brooding,
embroiled in shadow;
a blue eyed frown
in the depth of a thunderstorm.

On a day like today,
when I succumb to my weakness;
it feels like a losing war.
But a day away and the light of Sol
will see me smile once more.

In my world,
the heir unknown,
to something else;
a gift from the before.
