Born in Phoenix, AZ.
Raised in Chicago, IL, and later East TN.
Came to Jacksonville, FL to complete my degree, and reside here still.

My father and his father were both avid photographers, and my mother has loved her point-n-shoot cameras for years, so I come by my love of photography naturally. I’ve loved taking pictures since I was a child.

My first camera was a 110 point-n-shoot with a built-in zoom lens and battery-powered flash (still have it, somewhere!). At first, my photos documented trips I took. When I took photography in high school, I graduated to a Minolta 35mm SLR. I began using my camera as a way to focus on and capture slices of life, details and moments I saw around me. As I’ve grown older (and acquired a Nikon D50 SLR), I’ve used them to document my life, a visual diary of what is important to me, what attracts my attention, what touches me so deeply that I want to capture and keep it forever in some way.

Since I received my digital camera, the “unlimited film” feature has freed me to take more photos of the every-day, the common-place, the spur-of-the-moment. I’ve also been freed to experiment more, to take more pictures of the same thing in different ways, seeking the perfect view.
