Winter - A Magical Time to Shoot

Winter is a magical time to shoot… A time when the ordinary and unremarkable become transformed by frost, ice, snow, and refractive sunlight. Structure and form are revealed in ice. The geometry of the mundane is suddenly revealed in defining outlines of delicate crystal frost. Muddy or turbid colors vibrate and glow against contrasting icy winter whites. Boring weeds become wondrous and dramatic green-frosted etchings.

Morning is the best time to capture winter’s frosty handiwork. Before the sun melts the fragile crystalline coatings that form picturesque pieces on window panes, ground flow, and the dead remnants of fall’s desiduous shedding.
