Artist's Description

I really don’t think I could handle living in the city – I would miss the stars too much! Especially on nights like the one I took this, even though it was freezing cold sitting by the edge of the water waiting to get bowled over by a curious cow, I loved every second of the peace and quiet that settled over me as my eyes adjusted and showed me how brilliant even a moonless night can be.

You may notice a slight discrepancy with the reflection – the stars are not reflected exactly the same way, that’s because I used “Astro tracer” a function in my camera that uses GPS to follow the stars as the earth rotates during long exposures, oddly enough it didn’t work with the reflection leaving what as known as “star trails”

Exposure time:184sec ISO-3200, f/2.8. method – frozen cold hands!

Taken with a Pentax k-3ii in the South Burnett, Queensland, Australia.
