Artist's Description

Almost a year after the devastating fires of January 2006, the Blackboys (Xanthorrhoea australis ) in the Grampians had a once-in-a-century concentration of flowering that was spectacular to see.
It very graphically demonstated the place of fire in the regeneration of the Australian bush, and was both a spectacular and a heartening sight, letting anyone passing through know that all was not lost.
