Watercolour on cheap 350 gsm watercolour paper 30×20 cm
W&N French Ultramarine
Whacked this out this afternoon copying the example painting on the front of a pad of cheap watercolour paper that I bought from a discount shop.
I used masking fluid to block out the lines to produce a painting as if it was painted on tiles, which is a common practice in Portugal where they are called ‘azulejos’ (‘azul’ is Portuguese for blue), and frequently depict a historical event or a landscape such as this.
Did one once before but left it unsold in a gallery in Portugal. The Peugeot 205 was full to the roof as it was, without taking any unneccessary items along.
