I have been putting images on paper since before I can remember, and am compelled to do it it seems. I seem to have settled into a style of illustration and try to draw pictures that I hope can evoke some emotion in the viewer. I am drawing in reaction to the outside world, and try to place my hopes, dreams and emotions into a readable vision.
Much of my older work seems almost to have been in apprenticeship to the last couple of years’ drawings. Really reference material now.

My photographs are about various things. Some are again aimed at evoking emotion, some about contradiction, beauty, peace, wonder, ugliness. The whole gammut. I never really have much time to take photographs and have only bought a digital SLR starter camera in late 2008. I have a wonderful time taking photographs, it gives me great pleasure to capture moments in time, somehow time is slowed and every now and then you can almost predict an image and ready yourself for it, seeing it in your mind’s eye a moment or two before it happens. I pictures that I treasure the most can take me back to the instant I took them when I review them, the emotions, smells, sounds and interactions all flood back and overwhelm me. That is the part of these pictures that I can not share with others, a part of them all for myself.

In 2010 I have for the first time attempted realism in ink drawing. I am enjoying this new medium and hope to blend my old and new styles together soon.
