Artist's Description

Fireworks for the Lantern Festival or the 15th day of Chinese New Year.
So, there are 2 neighborhoods that face each other across the street. One has been the ‘in’ place, the other is up and coming. The ‘in’ place decides to put up lion statues. The owner of the up and coming isn’t happy, it is bad feng shui to have lions there to eat all of his good fortune. The ‘in’ place won’t even meet with him to discuss it, why should they? In go their lions. Up and coming doesn’t like this, so he decides to get even. This lion is 5 meters tall, taller even than the lions in the Forbidden City. The pair of them dwarf the lions across the street.
The in place has offered to pay to remove them and all the costs of putting them in, the works. Guess who doesn’t have time for a meeting now?
I live in the up and coming neighborhood, still waiting for my winning lottery ticket with all the good feng shui!
