Artist's Description

Chatfield State Park, Colorado

One of the biggest influences in my work is master landscape painter Albert Bierstadt Before I ever really dove head in to photography, I learned to paint formally in oils and acrylic while in art college. I remember the first time I saw his work and how blown away I was, by his use of color and light in his work. It completely floored me. I studied his work extensively and his technique always learning as I go.

For this shot, I envisioned something along the lines of Bierstadt’s work, and really want to capture the feeling and essence of his style. I shot it in HDR using a Grad ND and a CPL, to make sure I really got the light just right.

I hope you all like it
