Do you

Do you have a watch,
I don’t have the time,
and I think it’s time for you to go,
before I change my mind

You tie me to a chair of worries,
that become my own,
and soak me in painful regret,
coming out of me,
whispers of my happiness,
only to be replaced with cold,
I would stay here,
and go through this all,
if it meant I could take you home,
if it meant I could have you forever

Do you know this word,
used to apologise,
I hope you say it,
before I break down and cry

I held on when you thought I would let go,
as you held her in your arms I never looked down,
I only saw,
not the unkissable embrace,
I saw a shadow of happiness that I wanted to chase,
but can never actually have,
so it taunts me and runs around the room,
while I sit in this chair,
and watch you hold her,
when you should have been holding me

Do you know what these are,
these wet things from my eyes,
I guess you wouldn’t notice,
if I died

I will wait till the morning sun,
if it meant I could have you here with me,
I would wait for the last sea to dry,
if it meant I could keep you here,
and I would wait for the world to close over,
if it meant I could hold you here forever,
I would have done anything for you,
but anything wasn’t enough,
and so I’m sitting in this chair,
with glue in my eyes,
trying to stick my eyelids together,
so I don’t have to see this,
but you’re painted on the inside of my eyelids,
my heart falls out of place,
and this doesn’t feel right,
I can’t put it back in,
what have I become?
A vehicle left to breathe,
to feel nothing but the tears in my eyes,
I will miss you,
but now I wonder why,

Do you
