Artist's Description

Waratah
Telopea Speciosissima: This flower belongs to one of the oldest plant groups in the world. It gives a person strength and courage and amplifies a person’s abilities.

Now is the time to summon your inner warrior
Get mad, fight back, laugh, stand firm
Call in helpers, spirits or friends
Be brave and you will be victorious

Traditional Aboriginal use: The people of the Tharawal tribe around the Cronulla region of southern Sydney used the waratah medicinally. By placing these flowers in a bowl of water, the nectar would soak out and the water would then be drunk for pleasure, for it’s strengthening effects, and to cure illness in children and the elderly.
