I remember a time,
When your laughter filled the air,
Your smile warmed the heart’s of so many,
And your sweet scent drew me into your arm’s,
An embrace in which time itself fall’s to the wayside.

That was a time long since past,
My memorie’s held so dear have begun to fade,
A ripple in a ocean of lost time,
And now seem more the prodigy of fantasy,
A fantasy spawned from the mind of a child,
Clinging to blurry thought’s of no more thin foolish dream’s of what has been.

For so few moment’s,
Sleep bring’s relief,
And the hope of a new day,
Waking to the misery,
Of being without you.

Ever since those word’s spoken,
Sealing your fate,
Greif setting in,
I’ll never forget the silent scream’s your eye’s revealed.

Nothing can be done,
No chance, no hope,
No promise of life for this earthly vassal,
Nothing but a label,
An equipped date to expire branded upon it’s surface.

This parasite,
Destroyer of life,
Internally dwelling,
Burrowing through your soul,
Corruption spead’s and malice thicken’s.

How can you still stand tall?
With the knowledge of your impeding demise,
Yet you never stagger, not one false step taken,
You march on, no fear, my true inspiration.

Time erode’s, so long it’s been now,
Such sorrow culminating within my heart,
My soul crie’s with every vision of your current state,
Eye’s once vibrant, now dull so cold,
A lifeless shell, hollow and frail,
All that reside’s.

Was not the assurance of unlawful demise,
That rotted your soul and silenced your happiness,
But the burden of not watching your baby boy grow up,
That kept you up night’s silently weeping and scared you so.
