Known as Stemless Carline Thistle, Dwarf Carline Thistle, Silver Thistle or Hunter’s Bread.
Endemic in alpine regions of Central- and Southern Europe, up to 2,800 m altitude. Employed in herbal medicine as a diuretic and cold remedy, young flowers can be cooked and are edible.
Cultivated in rock gardens and used in dried flowers corsages.
