The best laid plans

Well the little Project 365 was going along pretty well. I’ve got 87 new images up on Redbubble since making little goal and have sorted through some images to find another few hundred to polish into a finished state.

But as with most plans, they don’t often survive first contact with the enemy – and one fateful morning, hitting the ‘please update windows now’ button and thrown a spanner in the works. See what wasn’t mentioned in the ‘update windows’ alert, is that it would destabilise Photoshop elements* to the point it was no longer operational…and here in lies the problem, I like using Nik plugins…which have since become Google plugins…which are apparently no longer operational in PSE15 :-(

Long story short, I upgraded to the latest PSE15, went to install the Nik plugins again and – BaBow! Not working. So I’ve got to dream up either a new workflow, or get Google/Nik plugins to work again before there’ll be much to upload.

It’s been a week now and I haven’t found a solution yet, so if you know of one please share! But it’s going to put the 365 uploads in the can for a while. Never mind, opportunity to dream up something new or perhaps get back to how things were, but with newer software…let’s see how we go.

*Yes I know I should probably be using Photoshop CC because it’s ‘more professional’. I ‘should’ also probably be using Canikon because more Pro’s use that too. But I’ve always enjoyed using my Bronica/Pentax/Leica equipment and tools are only good to a certain point. Same applies to software, it’s another tool to fulfilling your vision, so rather than upgrade with each version, I’ve refined my vision, upped my skills and continued that cycle. With any luck I can integrate more of that into my Lightroom workflow.
