Love Trilogy - Part 4: EPILOGUE

Life goes on and years pass by
Of course you moved forward with your young wife.
But do you ever stop to wonder why
You chose to have her and not I in your life?

Nothing changed for my family,
At least it would have looked that way.
They didn’t know I thought of you continually
And that it took all my effort to stay.

So was it worth loving you?
Can I now answer that with some stability?
Probably not, because unlike you,
Switching off feelings is not my ability.

I loved you then; I love you now.
Convince myself you did love me; you didn’t lie.
Don’t know the when or where or how,
Just that a love like ours we cannot deny.
