Inari Aurora Timelapse Video
Recently, I visited Finland for the first time. After an overnight stay in Helsinki, we flew to Ivalo, in Finnish Lapland, before travelling a further 50 minutes northwards to Inari. We were met by the Aurorahunters team, who were guiding us for the few days were there. The night we arrived was solid cloud cover, so we took the opportunity to rest, ready for the long nights ahead of us. The first two nights out were a challenge, the first was more of a chase to find the cloud clearances thna a chase to find the Aurora, but we did strike lucky and found a gap for a reasonable display. The second night was clearer, but the display was very weak. Predictions didn’t look good for the final night, as solar activity was very low, but we were lucky enough to witness one of the best displays of the year, with lots of movement in the Aurora. We viewed from no fewer than four locations over several hours and I was able to gain enough footage for a timelapse video.
