Death in My Eyes

Immersed in a puddle of hopelessness is where I lie;
Lie here next to you, dying at every breath stolen from your lips
Each intake of a ghostly air is the next closest thing to life itself
But the life I once reined was in your world;
A world of the most desirable guilt and truth
Where the two, dependent upon another, caress the dull surface of pain

And now, our worlds collide at the slightest touch
Even from a mile away I smell your beauty
A beauty so pleasant and calm, even the sea cannot compete
And a war lost cannot fight to defeat
Because the aroma is a senses fail to the cold, dead surface of night
Where this darkest dark is but the stirring moment

By the end of the morning, night has entered through the deepest tunnel
Leading the light to your pumping veins
Where the blood reaches the surface from the slits of my wrists
To your bloody fingertips and yet you don’t give a fuck
Because it’s all just a mindless game of torture for your pleasure
And my pain- my pain is your strength but your strength is my weakness

If I could break you down and figure you out I would without a doubt;
Without a doubt, my dagger would slit the life into your beating, restless heart
And spill the blue-violet stream of death into my skin
Where my skin will become your enemy until you seize the day to rejuvenate my soul
Which is cleansed by the waking of your deathly justice
And produce an elixir of life to succumb the realms of hell

The clarity you and I seek is just another journey to extinction
Where your touch is the new death
And only I have seen such death because of my vulnerability to present my hand to your dishonor
An honor with no value or truth, only ruin and defeat
With such trembling fingers, I hold an empty tear that never ends
Because the path is a blur; blur is a path to emptiness foretold by a broken ugly

The sight of you and your eyes is a call to an unreachable hope
That I cannot deny because you grasped my glance in the blink of an open eye
As I pour the blood from my cuts into your veins I begin to fade;
Fade to a distant twilight where only you can revive my very helpless soul
Since you brought life to my nonexistent heart
Under a shadow blanket of shooting stars and radiant rays of sunlight

I can only hope to find faith in a scope of time
Or else my wrists will suffer the waking of a dull, crisp blade
And I cannot control what my pain can handle
Because the stroke of a breathtaking minute will soon pass without a whisper
And nonetheless capture the forgotten word
Not spoken at the dusk of dawn since the dawn did not meet dusk till death broke us apart

You see the blood on my shirt, but can’t see the death in my eyes
Because you saw the decay of words before my time came to pass
