Daybreak

Heavy veils,
Morning clothed landscapes,
Misty garments,
Hang in air
Whose sky strings
B W
O
Under sodden weight

Barrier to the penetrating rays
Friendly warmth

Melting into morning

The cattle ruminate
Pondering endlessly the meaning of life
They graze under ancient boughs

Patina of weathered bark
Grown weary of hearing
The wind’s secrets
Falls to the ground

And the early bird
Cadges the still soft soil
For its morning sustenance.

Dawn wakes the day
From restless slumber.
The night
Wrought with nocturnal fears
Drowns life

Unsettling rest.

We keep the day from sleeping
Wishing for its arrival
To peek from the edge of our earth
Ascension to godly heights
Touching all with its sight

To shame the cruel dark

Until Dusk

Steals the light

Daybreak
