THE HOMELESS DUBLINER

He walked down the street with his well worn feet

and turned his back on a long hard day

he put his cold hands into his unwelcomed pockets

where a lone penny tries to hide,

into the seams of his poorness and despair

but he keeps moving on surrendering to his homeless song

allways checking the many laneways for his night long

he wonders what the future will bring,

allways thinking will i ever get my chance to sing

the homeless dub watches the happy people,

going to the pubs for a night of love and fun

but he is still perched where all the rats run

a passing siren light catches his eyes

and he looks up to the skies and asks god the question

if i was a better person and did better things

would i ever get to hear my angles sing

but for him in lifes team he is the sub

welcome to the lonley life of the homeless dub.
