Another Day , Another Breath ...

I take another sip
from the wine glass in my hand.
My eyes look out the window
at this grey decaying land.
Spotlights of color
discovered by the sun.
These buildings look alive
full of energy and fun.
The haze of pollution
sits bitter on my tongue.
Swallowed with the wine
killing off another lung.
I yearn for open spaces
the wide expanse of greens.
Of rugged mountain tops
with dark and deep ravines.
A life to enjoy freedom
from the deadly hectic rush.
To walk about in peace
not in a constant crush.
I take another sip
from the wine glass in my hand.
Then once more i’ll go get ready
to brave this greying land.

Another Day , Another Breath ...
