In the dark
On a night so stark
A seedling grew
But who knew
In the light
Grow it might
And be forgot
This drawing consists of a pattern of white dots on black paper showing a seedling struggling up in the dark. It also represents women trying to emerge into the light from the darkness that threatens to envelope them.
Opposite to the saying about “does a tree in the forest fall if there is no one there to hear” this is the tree that is growing in the dark where nobody sees it, will it have a chance?
Do people suffering depression have a chance to grow into the light? Do the downtrodden have an opportunity to emerge.
Depression is one of the 50 things I deal with each day.
In many a way.
Thanks for coming to look as the thumbnail does not show much detail.
How wonderful to be especially honoured on International Women’s Day as I used to run our local women’s day breakfasts.
Today is International Womens Day – so going with that (sorry chaps) I have selected 12 images from our Ladies for us to admire!
So honoured to have this work included with such wonderful work.
