Our non trusty LandRover stopped going once again and had to be put on a flat top and taken back to Adelaide when we were just 21km South of Leigh Creek in South Australia, Australia. My husband accompanied the car and I spent some time at the Copley Caravan Park! This creek was a nearby and I delighted in wandering there with my trusty sketch book and camera. Lovely place! Definitely a dry river bed at this time of the year! :))
Copley is a small town in the Northern Flinders Ranges. I met some lovely people there and was made very welcome. The bakery is known for its Quandong Pies!
It is a town that needs a lot of restoration and renovaation but unfortunately i think there is too little money there to allow this to happen. A great pity the mining company fron Leigh Creek could not restore the old railway stain. A great opportunity for tourism if t……! Good Caravan Park.
