Daryl was born in Calgary, Alberta (Canada) and named after the actress Daryl Hannah. Since her childhood, she’s wanted to put art on clothing and used to use acrylic paint to put a made-up character on a sweatshirt (likely still owned by her mum). For gifts for the family, it’s not uncommon for her to make personalized tee shirts with fabric paint or iron-ons.

In 2009, after really wanting to be a manga artist, Daryl earned her Art Diploma from SCI in Quebec, Canada. She currently sells digital downloads of her art on Etsy and some of her paintings and kawaii drawings on deviantArt, as well as in person at markets with her hubby Rob.

Thanks to her husband’s encouragement, in 2016 Daryl started a blog based on a daily kawaii (Japanese meaning ‘cute’) art project after an adult coloring event at the local library inspired her :)

When she’s not making adult coloring books, tee decals, or magnets, you’ll find Daryl cozy at home watching Disney movies or old episodes of Frasier.

What is Zoo'd?

On July 10, 2017 I completed the year-long #Kawaii365 art project. And though I was no longer making daily creations, I still felt very inspired. So I kept on dreaming, indulging in the kawaii world, and creating. / And then Zoo’d was born. It’s a storyline based around 12 animal hybrids, all of which are cute, funny, weird and totally relatable on some level! To learn more about thes…

I have a shop-specific facebook group for you to join at http:…

Back in Canada

Hi everyone, / I am now back from Mexico, and it was a pretty awesome trip. My husband’s mother took the family to a Riu resort in Puerta Vallarta for a week :) I only wish it didn’t go by so fast. / I’m recovering from the jet lag (we took a red eye flight and I hardly slept the whole way back). I did have time to post about the trip here & there at www.kawaii365.blogspot.…
