Artist's Description

Indian Pipe (also called Ghost Plant or Corpse Plant) is native to temperate regions of the northern hemisphere and to northern South America. It is considered a very rare plant world wide given the difficult nature of its reproduction (it needs very specific elements to be in place to reproduce). This is no less the case in southern New Brunswick. I’ve only come across it a few times in my life. It is a woodland flower and blooms in early August. Norton, New Brunswick, Canada. Captured on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens.

f/5.6 1/60 sec. ISO 400
