Artist's Description

Figwort (also known as Woodland Figwort, and Common Figwort) is native to the temperate northern hemisphere. It is very uncommon in southern New Brunswick. I came across it a couple of years ago quite by accident and have never encountered it anywhere else (accept that original spot) since. Thankfully though, it seems to be thriving in the spot where I first found it. It appears to like full sun to partial shade and can grow in very poor, well drained soil. From what i can tell it generally blooms in late July or early August. However, this year, with our early spring, it seems to be blooming early along with everything else. Bloomfield, New Brunswick, Canada. Captured on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens
